Hi, There! Welcome to Issue #4! Summer is on the wane here in Northeast Ohio, which means only one thing: when Indian Summer hits, it's gonna be a bear. So wile away the remaining days of the sunniest of seasons with the latest from Up the Junction! Coming in September will be the first co-sponsored UTJ event! On Friday, September 7, three fantastic bands from the Akron-Kent area will be throwing a Back to School Party at the Robin Hood in just off the Kent State campus. Who's playing you ask? Man From Glad will be kicking things off about 9.30 pm, followed by Trip Man Dead and wrapping things up will be Pinki Mojo. All three bands have really cool websites, so check them out for more info. (www.mfgakron.com / www.tripmandead.com / www.pinkimojo.com) Don't forget to check out our Archive page. In case you missed an issue - never fear! We've got all the pertinent info from past issues of Up the Junction! Now if you're not on our mailing list and would like to be, send an e-mail to popjunction@neo.rr.com and write 'Subscribe' in the subject line - it's that easy! If you are a musician that wants to get your work noticed, send us your presskits, cassettes, CD's, and any promotional materials. Go to our Contact page to get them to us! And we're still looking for writers! So if you would like to write about your local music scene and submit reviews, artist news, and so on, you too can go to our Contact page for more info. For those late comers to this here magazine, we'll repeat our little reason for being: What Up the Junction strives for is the enjoyment of wonderfully original and creative music. We will never critique a CD or show; we will review them. The difference is that we won't search for faults in an artist's work - we will always provide positive feedback that not only will encourage artists to do their very best, but also encourage the listeners to check out the artist for themselves and make their own decisions. Well, enough already - click on the links to check out the goodies for this issue and treat yourself to a whole bevy of beautiful pop perfection. Enjoy! IN THIS ISSUE Glenn
